1Veteran's Day (the viedo appears at bottom of text)
Now more than ever we need to think of our men and women in uniform. They have a tough job and need our support. This is a little late (or a little early) for Veteran's Day. Few of us remember that Veterans Day used to be called Armistice Day. The armistice was signed, on the eleventh hour, eleventh day eleventh month, in 1918. The Germans laid down their arms and signed the Armistead ending World War I. Nor do we remember the name was changed to Veterans' Day by an Act of Congress on May 24, 1954. In October of that year, President Eisenhower called on all citizens to observe the day by remembering the sacrifices of all those who fought so gallantly, and through rededication to the task of promoting an enduring peace. The President referred to the change of name to Veterans' Day in honor of the servicemen of all America's wars. This is a tribute to our Veterans This is a wav file and may take a minute to load. I don't know who the Vocalist is or where this is located.
