- Obituary - Hunt, Lawrence Otho
Lawrence Otho Hunt, 83, of Cottageville, died 29 June 1990 of self-inflicted gunshot wounds, according to the Jackson County Sheriff's Department.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II. Owner and operator of Hunt's General Store in Cottageville. He was a retired postmaster with 39 years of service. He was a former schoolteacher and member of the Cottageville Public Service Board.
Surviving sons, L. Alvin of Ripley, Clinton C. of Belpre, Ohio, daughter, Glenva “Babe” Anderson of Chauncey, Ohio, nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren.
Service was Monday at Casto Funeral Home, Evans, with the Rev. Gearld Sayre and the Rev. Mike Norris officiating. Burial was in Blaine Memorial Cemetery, Cottageville.
